Emergency Preparedness Conversation: Building a Resilient Food System

Calling all businesses, nonprofits, elected officials, first responders, schools, healthcare personnel, food system leaders, and other local leaders to join the conversation as we plan ahead for food + water in times of disaster
WHAT TO BRING TO THIS EVENT:
Please come prepared to discuss your organization’s preparedness plans as they relate to food and water for employees, clients, students, and or other populations served. This might include plans not yet developed.
WHY PLAN AHEAD?
In recent years, severe weather and fires have affected local food supplies. While our community comes together in times of emergency, planning ahead would reduce chaos and increase the likelihood of all having access to food and clean water.
You are invited to join us for a systematic review of the food and water assets and gaps in our region as they pertain to times of emergency and natural disaster.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This will be a facilitated work session with local leaders to help us understand how we can better prepare our schools, businesses, organizations, and overall community to respond to both small and large-scale disasters. Cross-sector collaboration and the input of local leaders are vital.
Resources to ready your organizations for disaster will be available as well as opportunities to discuss additional emergency topics.
