Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome volunteers at Gorge Grown!

Folks often ask us:  what can I do to help?

The answer:  LOTS!

One of the best things you can do for Gorge Grown, and for local food and farms, is spread the word:

-- Tell your family and friends about your favorite local farmers' market or farm stand, or a fun event you attended like Food Forum or Feast on the Farm —and invite them to join you next time.

-- Send an email to your contacts with a link to our website.

-- Give a gift of supporting membership - or a GGFN t-shirt - for birthdays and holidays.
-- Make a tribute contribution for a special friend or loved one.
-- Visit our Facebook page, post ideas and feedback on our wall, and become a fan.
-- Share a copy of Who's Your Farmer? with friends, coworkers, and family.

If you live in The Dalles, Mosier or Stevenson, we encourage you to join one of our regional leadership teams. In 2010 we piloted a Community Food Leaders program that gave folks the tools to take local action on community food issues! We hope to expand this program to the entire Gorge in early 2011.

Don't live in The Dalles, Mosier or Stevenson but still want to help out?

We have lots and lots of tasks that can benefit from volunteer energy. Our farmers' market is always in need of smiling faces at the info booth, our office is always in need of generous filing and mailing help, and events like our annual Feast on the Farm absolutely depend on dozens of dedicated servers, setters-up, and so on.
